The Weather Table
We are in Spring and Loving it. The Weather is warm most of the time, but you may find a rainy day or two once in a while
For the night, you can see the bright stars with only a few clouds hanging from above. It is a great time to look at the stars if you have nothing else better to do.

Rroan finally looked down at the kid. He was obviously in pain. He was shorter than her and definitely younger. "Are you okay? Do you need to go to the hospital? My house is a little ways back. I am sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry." Rroan stopped herself from continuing as she noticed his bruised eye. She hadn't done that, but obviously someone did. "Who beat you up so badly?" Rroan questioned.
Rroan kneeled down next to him, starting to examine his facial wounds. "Who would do this to a kid?" she muttered to herself. She looked back down at his hurt knee. "Do you need me to carry you? Or help you walk?" This kid obviously has bad luck. Rroan glanced back toward his face. Who would do this to a kid? He obviously needs help. Was it a bully? No, it doesn't look like that. A parent? How bad does this kid have it?
Rroan guiltily remembered how she had snapped at him, taking the earbud out of her ear. She took the iPod, stopped the music, and round the cords around the iPod before putting it into her back pocket again.

Rroan looked down as the kid rambled on half to himself and half to her. His dad? I should call child services. This kid doesn't deserve that. Rroan got up as he got up. "No, that was half my fault." Rroan looked down at the boy. He was definitely shorter than him, but not by too much. "My name is Rroan Kiss." Rroan held out her hand smiling, but the smile vanished as he cried with pain.
Rroan didn't know what to do. "We need to get you to a hospital, or child services or something. This is not right!" Rroan looked down at him, in pain, lying on the ground. Rroan started to panic. This boy needed help, but he didn't want it; not the way she knew how to give it. "Umm... Can you stand up again? I could help you to my car and then I could driver you to the hospital. Who cares what your dad will do, look what he did already!" Rroan screamed, panic raising her voice, as she looked towards his bruised eye and bleeding lips.

Rroan looked down at him. He really didn't want to get away from his father. "Okay, then let's go to my house." Rroan quickly started helping him up. "I'll put some ice on it and hope it helps." Rroan was cursing herself in her head. Why did this happen to me? D****t... Rroan continued cursing herself. She never thought this could happen to her. Did she really break his leg? Or is it just sprained? How could she be so stupid as to run into someone?
Rroan finished helping him stand up and asked him, "Do you need me to carry you?" Rroan, although not muscular, was strong. Her house was only three or four blocks away, and she could carry him easily.

Rroan looked over to him. "For now, let's just get you to my house. I can get some ice and see if it helps. Hopefully you just have a sprain," Rroan told him as she helped him towards his house.
Relief spread through Rroan as she opened the door to her house. The house was two stories. Stairs were in front of the door, a living room to the right, a little den to the left. Rroan lead him into the living room where a tannish fluffy couch with a small table in front of it. "Here, you can sit here." Rroan left his side once they reached the couch.Piling up all but one pillow, she turned back to him and instructed him to elevate his knee. "I'll go get some ice."
Rroan left the room and went back towards the front door. Right beyond the stair, the kitchen opened up to her left. The house, in all, was pretty big. Rroan grabbed an ice bag and went back into the room.

Rroan entered the room with the ice bag in hand. "Good, try to get it up as far as you can so I can look at it." The ice bag was cold in her hand, so she put it on the arm of the couch. Her memory was a little rusty, but she was starting to remember some of the things her coach had taught her. Kneeling down next to the couch, she examined his knee, touching areas and asking him if they hurt.
"From the swelling, I think it is only a sprain." She grabbed the bag of ice from the arm chair. A little of the ice had melted creating a thin cool sheet at the bottom of the bag. She placed it on him leg and took his hand. "Just hold that there. I don't think the sprain is that bad. Let me go see if I have a left over brace or something." Rroan left the room and hurried upstairs, searching for a brace.

Rroan came down the stairs with a brace and a bandage. She saw him sleeping so she put the brace and bandages on the table. Rroan looked at the clock. It was around 4 o'clock now, and she was had to go to cheerleading practice. Rroan went up stairs and got changed. She had no choice; she would have to leave him there. Up in her room, she found a stack of bright pink post-it notes. With a pen in her hand she scribbled, 'Dear Lucille, A boy sprained his leg and is sleeping on the couch. Please do not disturb him and if he wakes up help him with the bandages and brace. Please do the upstairs first as to let him sleep longer. Thank you. --Rroan' and ripped it off. That would be for the maid.
Next she wrote, 'Hey Kid, I had to go to cheerleading practice, so I left you here. Here are a brace and some bandages. The maid is coming by around 5:30 and if you are awake, she can help you out. She will be there until about 6:30. My practice ends at 8, so I will be back around 8:30. Please call your parents so they know where you are. --Rroan.' She ripped that one off, sprinted down the carpetted stairs, grabbed the phone and placed it onto the table quietly, placing the phone next to it. Then, grabbing a waterbottle, she went out the door. Right before she left she stuck the first note onto the front door for the maid.

Rroan pushed the lock button three times so that it clicked twice. She had her bag in her hand and it was 8:45. She had had to stay longer because she was captain. As she went through the door, she dropped her bag and went into the room where he was. "Did you get the brace and bandage on okay? And call your parents? I am sorry I am so late." Rroan walked around the couch to look him in the eyes. She didn't like not seeing the person's face and expression while they talked. She was still sweaty from cheerleading, so she didn't come close enough for any contact.

"It's okay." Rroan examined the brace and helped him fix it. "Okay now? Here, let me get some Advil. " Rroan left the room and grabbed two pills of Advil and a small cup of water. Coming back into the room, she gave him the Advil and water. "Good?"
Rroan listened to his answer before continuing. "Are you sure your dad can't take over?"
